Blood+ is an anime produced by Production I.G and directed by Junichi Fujisaki (who also worked as the director of Blood: The Last Vampire). The anime was inspired by this film, but there are only a few elements from it, so you don’t have to watch the movie to understand the anime.
STORY:
Saya is a normal schoolgirl who has forgotten everything about her past. All she knows is that she wants to live with her adoptive family, forever. But that dream is about to be crushed, when she finds herself running away from a monster, called chiropteran. And then, a misterious guy whose name is Haji, appears and tells her to fight. Even when Saya rejected it at first, after he kisses her (trying to make her drink his blood), Saya “awakes”, and kills the monster.
Who is she? What are those monsters, and why does she have to fight?
Blood+ has actually a manga, which is really different from the anime and there’s so much blood. I’ll write about the manga in another post.
This is a really amazing anime. Althought at first you can feel it a little boring (I did), after episode 20 it gets really interesting and you just want to know what happens next. I loved the movie, so I had to watch the anime. I think the Saya of the movie is way better than this Saya. But that’s just my opinion.
All characters are so real, and the story is absolutely well done. That’s why I liked this anime. The best character was, to me, Diva. But let’s talk about her later. The feelings and unexpected situacions were memorable.
I really recommend Blood+ if you like vampires, blood, good drama and good characters, and amazing music.

hi! its me, ^_^ I would like to say, that I agree with everything, I think people dont like Diva because its easier to think that she’s evil, then to really think about it. ^_^ I have read The first manga, but I couldn’t find the rest, someone said that it was the only one published in the U.S, is that true?

Well, I think that Dark Horse has already published 4 volumes (there are 5 of the “normal” series). Maybe that person tried to say that they were going to publish only the Blood+ manga, cos there are two other mangas, wich are “Blood+ Adaigo” and “Blood+ Yakou Joushi”.
